Parisian Design
Alex de Rouvray designs furniture in the tradition of Parisian modernism. The forms are light and refined, combining rich and expressive materials such as natural wood veneers, cold-drawn steel, full-grain leather and tempered glass.
From the Séverin Collection, awarded the Observeur du Design Label in 2014, to the Vavin Collection, designed in 2022, his furniture is developed through collections named after Parisian streets.

The honesty of design is a concern that resonates with me. Revealing industrial processes, not concealing the materials and structure of a piece of furniture, deconstructing it to make it “transparent” — this fundamentally honest approach to design inspires me because it allows me to pursue a kind of timeless truth. Reducing a piece of furniture to its archetype, to its simplest expression.

Alex de Rouvray is a Paris-based furniture designer and editor. Educated at Stanford University and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers in Paris, he creates furniture that brings together clean lines, material precision, and a sensibility deeply rooted in Parisian culture.
